Marina Jung started practising Iyengar Yoga in 1984. For the past twenty years she has travelled regularly to Pune, where she has been a direct student of B.K.S Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar. Marina is one of few teachers in Australia to hold a Junior Advanced teaching certificate, awarded directly by B.K.S. Iyengar. She has been teaching for almost thirty years.
Marina's approach is informed by a wealth of knowledge and experience that comes from years of dedication to teaching and practice. Her classes present a mix of asana and yoga philosophy in a way that is profound but relatable.
Marina is the senior teacher at Clifton Hill Yoga Studio in Melbourne, where she runs teacher training, teacher development and weekly classes of all levels. She travels extensively, interstate and internationally, to give workshops to students and teachers. Prior to moving to Australia, Marina taught at the Iyengar Institute in London.
Marina is a senior assessor and moderator with the Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia.
She also holds a Diploma in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing.
The Iyengar Certification Mark is an international symbol of the highest standard of training and continuing education in the Iyengar method of yoga. Only certified Iyengar teachers are entitled to use the name of yoga master BKS Iyengar and his teaching method. Certified teachers are committed to upholding the excellence and purity of Iyengar Yoga – one of the world's most widely practiced yogas.
