I have been taught by Marina for nearly two decades. I have been pregnant, I have been injured (through other sporting activities) and she has guided me as my practice has evolved from my 20s to my 30s and now into my 40s. Marina transforms yoga into something more than a physical discipline, she manages to integrate a philosophy of living into her teaching. She leads by example and unlike any other teacher I have had, is able to clearly communicate the intricacies and detail of every asana. Marina is, without doubt, the reason I have continued practising yoga for most of my adult life.

Marilyn

Marina is an excellent teacher of all levels of yoga. Her vast experience is evident in all she teaches. She judges a student well and knows exactly how to facilitate growth in each individual - she continually opens new doors. Her teaching is clear and detailed and there is never any doubt about what she is focussing on. Marina is lucky to have studied directly with Sri BKS Iyengar and his family and we are fortunate to have this lineage in her teaching. I am very grateful for all she has given on every occasion she has taught me. I savour these moments in class and beyond.

Noelle's

I have had the privilege of being Marina’s student for over 10 years. Her commitment to, and understanding of, the Iyengar Method and philosophy are an inspiration to all who learn from her. Marina leads by example through living a life of integrity. She is highly regarded by students and teachers alike. I am grateful to her for all that she has offered me: time, teaching, unwavering commitment to my training, strength and compassion. It is due to Marina’s encouragement that I have been able to deepen my practice and reach a new level of understanding of myself—in body, mind, and spirit.

Marina is a gifted teacher whose every direction or comment is an aid to betterment and improvement through yoga. Marina has large classes full of people but will scan the room and understand all the varying levels of ability, engagement and potential. Her directions apply to everybody but one can respond in simple or more complex and deeper ways to her guidance, dependant upon experience and what is possible at the time. Such is her skill as a teacher and the generosity of spirit and knowledge she brings to her teaching of Iyengar yoga.
